Laurie became both an MSF and Riding Academy instructor in 2007. Laurie’s dream of becoming a riding adventurer started 13 years ago because of her fascination with motors. She currently rides a 2013 Suzuki VStrom and takes it on both road and off-road excursions. Her favorite place to go riding locally is on the Kanc. She has gone on motorcycle trips through the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherahola Skyway, the Tail of the Dragon, and the Snake with fellow instructor, Wanda. Other than riding, Laurie likes to horseback ride, travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Laurie’s nickname is Laurie Holiday because she is always on vacation or has travel plans. As a result of being a kidney donor to her son, Laurie has given herself permission to live this lifestyle-her goal is to ride a motorcycle and a horse on every continent! (wish her luck).
