As mentioned in the opener, the 2021 Harley-Davidson® Softail® Standard is a stripped-down bobber. Bobber is a type of custom motorcycle that has had the rear fender bobbed or shortened and usually the front fender removed. The term bobber often implies stripped down. In fact, the term bob-job, which is where bobber word comes from, refers to removing non-essentials from a bike. Calling a Softail® Standard a stripped-down bobber may seem a bit redundant then. However, there can a range of bob-ness, if you will, and among the eight cruisers in the Harley-Davidson® lineup, the Softail® Standard is certainly at the far end of the range when it comes to being accessorized—or not in this case.
